The answers are for initial orientation. The specific offer, the purchase contract and the associated conditions are always decisive.

Advice and vehicle selection

How does Julian Kürten help me choose a vehicle?

I help you find a vehicle that suits your everyday life, your driving profile and your budget. We look not only at model and engine, but also at space requirements, equipment, usage and your preferred form of acquisition.

Which details help with the vehicle search?

Particularly helpful are the desired model, your budget, the annual mileage, preferred equipment and the planned purchase date. If you have not yet chosen a specific model, information about your driving profile and your key requirements is enough to start with.

Can I buy a Mercedes-Benz in Kiel if I am not from the region?

Yes. My personal location is Kiel, but advice is possible throughout Germany. Many questions can be clarified by phone, email, WhatsApp or in a video presentation.

Who is my seller or contractual partner?

You buy used cars directly from Süverkrüp Automobile GmbH & Co. KG. New cars are arranged and supported by Süverkrüp and ordered from Mercedes-Benz AG. The respectively relevant details result from the specific offer and the contract documents.

I have already found a vehicle. What should I send?

Simply send me the link to the vehicle or the vehicle number. It is best to add your most important questions as well as, where applicable, details on financing, trade-in or a desired video presentation.

Will you remain my contact after the vehicle handover?

Yes. My support does not end with the signature or the vehicle handover. I also assist you personally with later questions or put you in touch with the appropriate department at Süverkrüp.

Vehicle types

What is the difference between a new car, demonstrator, one-year-old car and used car?

A new car has not yet been regularly registered or used and, in the case of a factory order, can be individually configured within the available options. A demonstrator was used by the dealer for presentations or test drives. A one-year-old car already has a first registration and was previously used. Used cars are vehicles offered with prior registration or use. The details of the specific vehicle are always decisive.

Mercedes-Benz new cars

What is the difference between an immediately available Mercedes-Benz new car and a factory order?

An immediately available vehicle has already been produced or is in available stock. As a result, handover is often possible sooner, but the configuration is already fixed. With a factory order, the vehicle is individually assembled within the available options. For this, a corresponding production and delivery time must be planned.

Do you support me with the configuration?

Yes. Together we check which engine, equipment and technical options suit your actual usage. The aim is not the longest possible equipment list, but a sensible and fitting configuration.

Can I test drive my desired model beforehand?

A test drive can be arranged subject to availability. Not every engine and equipment combination is always available as a demonstrator. In that case we check whether a comparable vehicle is available.

Can a delivery date be guaranteed?

Delivery times depend, among other things, on model, configuration, production planning and logistics. Stated delivery dates should therefore be assessed in line with the respective contract documents and manufacturer information. You will be informed about known changes in the process.

Can a configuration still be changed after ordering?

That depends on the processing and production status of the vehicle. Change requests must therefore always be checked individually. Once certain production steps have been reached, changes may be limited or no longer possible.

Do you also advise on electric and hybrid vehicles?

Yes. In the selection we consider, among other things, daily driving distances, long-distance use, charging options and the desired vehicle size. Subsidies, tax advantages and manufacturer offers can change and are therefore only considered on the basis of the respective current status.

Can I buy, lease or finance a Mercedes-Benz new car?

Depending on the vehicle and the currently available offer, purchase, leasing or financing are possible. Which option makes sense depends, among other things, on budget, holding period, annual mileage and the desired financial flexibility. The specific calculation is always decisive.

Mercedes-Benz used cars

How do I find out more about the condition and history of a vehicle?

The starting point is the information in the specific vehicle offer and the available vehicle documents. If you are interested further, we clarify open questions about condition, equipment, mileage and available documentation together. The specific vehicle always remains decisive.

What is a Mercedes-Benz 'Junger Stern'?

'Junge Sterne' are certified Mercedes-Benz used cars that meet certain requirements and inspection standards. Which warranty and additional services are included results from the respective vehicle offer and the associated conditions.

Can a used car be reserved?

An enquiry or reservation is generally possible but must be confirmed for the specific vehicle. Sending a message alone does not yet constitute a binding reservation.

Can I buy a Mercedes-Benz used car without coming to Kiel first?

Much information can be conveyed by phone, digitally and, on request, via a video presentation. Whether the entire purchase can be handled remotely and which documents are required is checked for the specific vehicle and buyer.

What warranty applies to a used car?

That depends on the vehicle, the offer and any warranty programmes included. Statutory rights regarding defects and voluntary warranty services must be distinguished from each other. Only the specific offer, the purchase contract and the associated warranty conditions are decisive.

How long does an offered vehicle remain available?

Used cars are individual items and can be sold or reserved at short notice. A visible online listing therefore does not guarantee that the vehicle is still available. I am happy to check the current status using the vehicle link or the stock number.

Leasing, financing and trade-in

Mercedes-Benz leasing or financing: which suits me better?

With leasing, the focus is on using the vehicle over an agreed period. With financing, the purchase price is paid in monthly instalments; depending on the model, a final instalment may be provided for. Which solution is more sensible depends on usage, mileage, budget and personal goals.

What does the monthly instalment depend on?

The instalment is influenced, among other things, by vehicle price, down payment, term, mileage, a possible final instalment and the respective current conditions. A meaningful assessment is therefore only possible on the basis of a specific offer.

Why should I not only compare the monthly instalment?

A low instalment alone says little about the total costs. Also important are the down payment, term, mileage, final instalment, return conditions and included services. I explain the differences to you based on the available offers.

Which documents are required for leasing or financing?

The required documents depend, among other things, on whether you buy privately, as a self-employed person or for a company. In addition, a check by the respective financing partner is required. You will receive the specific list of documents to match your enquiry.

Is leasing or financing also possible without a down payment?

That depends on the vehicle, the respective financing product, the current conditions and the required credit check. An option without a down payment can therefore not be promised in general. I am happy to check which variants can be offered for the specific vehicle.

Do you also offer leasing and financing for business customers?

Yes, suitable solutions can also be checked for companies and business customers. Conditions, required documents and tax treatment differ from private contracts. This does not constitute tax advice.

Can maintenance or warranty packages be included in the offer?

Depending on the vehicle, age and current product range, maintenance, service or warranty packages may be available. Which services are included and which terms apply is explained based on the specific offer.

Can my current vehicle be traded in?

Yes, a possible trade-in can be checked as part of the vehicle change. For this, vehicle data, mileage, equipment, condition and available documents are needed first. An assessment then follows.

Which documents are needed to value my vehicle?

Helpful are the registration certificate, current mileage, equipment details, service or maintenance records and information about known damage or repairs. In the case of existing financing, the current settlement amount is also needed. The final valuation may require an inspection of the vehicle.

Can a vehicle that is still being financed be traded in?

In principle, a vehicle with ongoing financing can also be checked. For this, in particular the current settlement amount and the details of the financing bank are needed. Whether and how the settlement can be included in the process is clarified individually.

International vehicle purchase and export

Which vehicles can be sold internationally?

International sales are possible for both suitable new cars and used cars. New cars are sold exclusively within Europe. For used cars, selected non-European markets may additionally be considered after an individual review. The prerequisite is always that the vehicle is offered or handled through Süverkrüp. Vehicles from other dealers cannot be sold or exported internationally by us.

Can I buy a Mercedes-Benz new car within Europe?

Yes. Suitable Mercedes-Benz new cars can be sold within Europe. Whether a sale is possible is checked individually for each vehicle, the buyer and the destination country.

Possible reasons for exclusion include, among others:

  • the destination country is outside Europe
  • manufacturer or distribution restrictions
  • the vehicle or configuration is not approved for the target market
  • the buyer or company cannot be fully verified
  • required documents or proofs are missing
  • legal, tax, customs or sanctions requirements stand in the way

The availability of a vehicle therefore does not yet imply a commitment to an international sale.

Which countries can vehicles be sold to?

There is no fixed, generally applicable list of countries. International sales are checked individually based on the vehicle, the buyer, the destination country and the applicable framework. For new cars, only European destination countries are eligible. Suitable used cars can be sold within the European Union and, after individual review, to further European and selected non-European markets.

Not possible in particular are:

  • no new car sales outside Europe
  • no vehicles from other dealers
  • no transactions with incomplete or unverifiable buyer data
  • no transactions contrary to legal, tax, customs, sanctions or manufacturer requirements

Even within Europe there is no automatic entitlement to sale or delivery.

Which details are needed for the initial review?

The following details are helpful for an initial review:

  • vehicle link or stock number
  • destination country
  • private or business purchase
  • full name or company name
  • for companies, the VAT identification number, if available
  • desired type of collection or transport
  • contact details
  • preferred language
Can companies buy a vehicle without German VAT?

Whether a VAT-exempt supply is possible depends on the requirements of the specific transaction and the required proofs. A valid VAT identification number alone does not automatically lead to VAT-exempt handling. The individual review and the contractually agreed conditions are decisive.

Why is the VAT identification number checked for business customers?

The VAT identification number is part of the review of a cross-border business purchase within the European Union. However, a valid number alone guarantees neither a VAT-exempt supply nor acceptance of the transaction. Buyer, company, vehicle, destination country and required proofs are checked together.

What is a VAT security?

Depending on the transaction, a VAT security or deposit amount may initially be required. Reimbursement is only made in accordance with the contractual conditions and after all required proofs are fully and punctually available.

What is a proof of arrival?

A proof of arrival can serve as evidence that a vehicle has actually arrived in another EU member state as part of an intra-community supply. Whether and in what form it is needed in the specific transaction depends on the respective handling and the agreed proof obligations.

Do you support with export plates and customs documents?

Provided the requirements of the respective process are met, we support with the necessary export plates and with customs-relevant documents. The specific scope depends on the vehicle, buyer, destination country and the planned collection.

Can the vehicle be collected in Kiel?

A personal or commissioned collection in Kiel can be part of the agreed handling. Kiel has good motorway access and direct ferry connections towards Scandinavia and the Baltic. The specific handover is agreed in advance.

Can a transport company collect the vehicle for me?

Collection by a transport company commissioned by the buyer can be possible after prior arrangement. The buyer organises and commissions the transport entirely themselves. Which powers of attorney, proofs of identity and handover documents are required is communicated for the specific process.

Do you organise the transport to the destination country?

No. The organisation and commissioning of the vehicle transport lies entirely with the buyer. The buyer chooses the transport company and independently clarifies transport costs, insurance and the further transport route.

We coordinate the collection date and the vehicle handover with the buyer or the commissioned transport company and provide the documents agreed in the specific process. Responsibilities, handover point and transfer of risk are governed by the respective purchase contract.

In which language are contracts and legally relevant documents drawn up?

The website and the initial communication are available in several languages. The authoritative language of the purchase contract, invoice, warranty or export documents may differ from this. The documents provided and agreed in the specific process are decisive.

The answers are for initial orientation. Vehicle availability, prices, conditions, delivery times, warranty scope as well as tax and customs requirements depend on the specific vehicle and transaction. The individual offer, the purchase contract and the associated conditions are decisive. The FAQ does not replace legal, tax or customs advice.
